C A D A V E R The caves lie beneath the Castle and contain many distinct areas; The Mines, Mortuary, Gaol, Crypts, Chapel and King's Tomb. A secret opening in the Marsh has allowed Karadoc to gain access unobserved. Karadoc starts in the Old Mine Workings and is seeking the route up to the next level of the Castle. One or two little 'bonuses' have been ommitted from this guide as they are not absolutely necessary to complete the game. Scattered throughout the game are parchment clues in the form of books, letters, instructions or memos. These prove ESSENTIAL for anyone who plans to solve the game unaided. It is recommended that the player reads all parchments and notes down their contents. LEVEL ONE In the first room, COLLECT the PICKAXE, COIN and DIARY, then go NORTH. PULL the LEVER (this unlocks the NORTH door) and leave through the NORTH door. COLLECT the SACK OF STONES that is on the floor (weapon) and go WEST. KILL the spiny CREATURE and then COLLECT the CHARM. Head SOUTH. COLLECT the RUNIC STONE that is on the ground, KILL the SPIDER that drops from the ceiling and exit NORTH twice. There are several sacks in this room, and if you move them you will discover a GEM; COLLECT the GEM, KILL the WORM and exit SOUTH. Go EAST twice and then SOUTH to get to the Main Chamber, and once there, COLLECT the ROPE on top of the barrel (the barrel is filled with stamina-restoring potion) and head EAST twice. COLLECT the KEY in this room and then make your way back to the room from where you started. Head EAST from here this time into the next room and PULL the LEVER that is there. Make your way back to the Main Chamber and go through the (now unlocked) SOUTHERN door. The passage that you are now in is blocked by a large wall, but don't worry; just simply keep on THROWING the PICKAXE at the WALL until it is completely destroyed, and then exit by the SOUTH door. SEARCH the SKELETON in the corridor and TAKE the CLUE BOOK that appears. Go EAST. This corridor has four buttons on the NORTHERN wall. These unlock the door to the Dragon Room if pressed in the right order (1-4-3-2, the left button equals 1), although you won't be going there just yet. Once you've pressed the buttons, go NORTH and then WEST to where the Well is. TAKE the KEY that is hidden under the bones and leave again. Go WEST into the Stores, OPEN the CHEST and TAKE all the contents (COIN, CHICKEN and BREAD). Go EAST and then NORTH into the Gaol. COLLECT the COIN from the table, USE the KEY on the KEYHOLE in the WEST wall and go NORTH into Cell One. Exit SOUTH straight away and KILL the MONSTER that has appeared, then go into the next Cell. There is a Man present in this cell and GIVING him FOOD will provide you with some handy clues. Exit SOUTH afterwards. Go EAST into Cell Three and exit WEST. Head EAST into Cell Four, COLLECT the KEY and exit WEST. Now return to the corridor near the Well and head EAST from there. COLLECT the GREEN GEM and HIT the BUTTON on the wall to lift the cover in the Cadaver Store. READ the BOOK to find out what you're meant to do with the gems and the pit, then go NORTH into the Cadaver Store. DROP the ROPE down the hole in the centre of the room and then fall down the Pit. Walk over to the Rat and OPEN it to reveal a KEY for the East door; COLLECT the other KEY that is on the floor, OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the URN that is inside. Go EAST twice into a small room. COLLECT all the gems (you should now have SIX) and go back to the Main Pit Room that you entered through the hole. THROW each of the six GEMS into the WATER and you should be teleported to the Crypts near the Chapel. Leave SOUTH and you end up just West of the Embalming Room. Go EAST into the Embalming Room. SEARCH the SKELETON to find a hidden KEY (touching the other corpse will disturb a monster!). After getting the key, go NORTH into the Balm Store. There are several potions in this room on a ledge;- Cure Poison (unknown), Shot Shield, Stamina (red cross), Poison (acrid). DRINK or COLLECT the ones you want. The KEY on the floor is for the keyhole in the West wall. INSERT KEY covered with spiders web into KEYHOLE. Go back into the Embalming Room - avoiding or killing the spiders - and then head EAST into the Purifactory. TAKE the LEARN POTION SPELL and the GIANT JUMP POTION (frogskin) then go WEST and SOUTH to the Offal Store, although this contains nothing of value. Return to the corridor with the row of buttons (WEST-WEST-WEST-WEST). From here, exit SOUTH but be ready with the BAG OF STONES so that you can KILL the HOPPING BRAIN. INSERT the KEY (Skeleton) into the KEYHOLE and continue SOUTH. Go WEST twice to the Mourning Room and KILL the HOPPING BRAIN that is on the table (not too hard considering it is asleep!), then TAKE both the HOLY WATER FLASKS and the CHARM before going SOUTH. There is another brain to kill in this room, however, this one is awake. If you're quick enough you should be O.K. COLLECT the KEY that is left after you've destroyed the brain, then go WEST and NORTH to the Royal Armoury. PICK UP the BRONZE ARMOUR, the SWORD, the RED-STRIPED SHIELD and the BRONZE HELMET. Now exit SOUTH and WEST into the Ante Room. PRESS the BUTTON on the wall (this will not work without the armour that you have just collected!) and you will be transported to the King's Secret Treasury. TAKE the CROWN, the COINS and the CHARM and then PULL the LEVER to go back to the Ante Room. Head SOUTH and OPEN the CHEST with the key that you got from the brain and TAKE the contents (MEAT & COIN). Return to the Mourning Room and exit EAST into the passage, then EAST again and SOUTH. You should now be in the first room of the Chapel. Two Bugs are wandering around but they can be easily avoided. Put out the flames in the bowls by jumping on them (this unlocks the East door), then go EAST THREE TIMES to the Common Crypt. COLLECT the KEY on the ALTAR (revealed when the urn smashes), PUSH the FOUR STONES off the other altar to reveal a DISPEL TRAP SPELL and a CANISTER OF EXPERIENCE (OPEN the CANISTER and TAKE the SPELL). Exit EAST into the Shrine. COLLECT the MONEY and the BAG OF STONES then return to the Common Crypt. Go SOUTH into the Glutton's Shrine and THROW the JOINT OF MEAT onto the SHRINE to be rewarded with a SUPER FAST POTION. TAKE it and go back to the Common Crypt and head through the West door then NORTH into the Lesser Crypt. Under the pile of stones there is a RUNIC STONE (Spell); TAKE this then go SOUTH and NORTH to the Priest's Crypt. While standing on the altar, SEARCH the LARGE URN to reveal a CHARM and a WORM. TAKE the CHARM and go SOUTH twice to the Warrior's Crypt. DROP the GOLD FUNERARY COIN onto the Tomb of Kazah, and then COLLECT the POTION (FIRE SHIELD - save this for the Dragon). Go NORTH again (you will have seen these two rooms when you were teleported from the Pit), and CAST a DISPEL TRAP on the CHEST. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the CHARM and the URN. Return to the first room of the Chapel and go SOUTH. Avoid the Bug and DROP the URN OF LORD CAROLUS onto the Altar of Lord Carolus and COLLECT the SPELL that appears (MASSACRE - Unknown and unusable until known - save this for the Dragon). Exit SOUTH to the Inner Sanctum, and WEST into the Crematorium. PLACE the URN OF RAGNAR THE CHIEF ALCHEMIST onto the appropriate slab, COLLECT the FLASK OF BLOOD and return to the Inner Sanctum. DROP the BLOOD on the High Altar, COLLECT the KEY and the SPELL (READ MAGIC), USE the KEY in the KEYHOLE in the West wall, then go WEST. CAST DISPEL TRAP on the CHEST, then OPEN it and TAKE the RUNIC STONE (READ LANGUAGE). Head NORTH into the Library, COLLECT the SPELL (MAP) and return to the Inner Sanctum. DROP the unknown spell that you found earlier and CAST READ MAGIC upon it; this will allow you to use it to kill the Dragon. Now go SOUTH and WEST into the Purifactory. DROP a FLASK OF HOLY WATER into the BOWL and then DRINK it; this will teleport you to a hidden Treasure Chamber. PULL the LEVER and COLLECT the reward, PULL the LEVER again to be teleported back to the room adjacent to the Purifactory. Repeat this as many times as you have flasks of holy water. Having got the MASSACRE SPELL, the FIRE PROTECTION SPELL and the KING'S CROWN you are now fully equipped to face the Dragon. Go back to the passage with the four buttons and go WEST into the Dragon Room. DRINK the FIRE SHIELD POTION to protect you from the fireballs, HOLD the MASSACRE POTION and PRESS FIRE to CAST it, ridding you of the troublesome monster. PRESS the BUTTON on the wall, exit NORTH, PULL the LEVER and that's Level One completed! LEVEL TWO This level is set on the Ground Floor of Castle Wulf, a place previously inhabited by Carolus and his six Captains:- Axel, Broksen, Grimbold, Ragnar, Helm and Magnus. Here they discussed policies, rule of the castle and magic. On entering Level Two you will have lost all objects from your rucksack that are NOT Spells or Potions (the idea of this is to free space in your rucksack). The aim here is to find, collect and return six Transport Stones created by Carolus for his Captains, and an emerald to enable entry to the final room. Things are not, however, THAT easy! From where you commence this level, exit NORTH. OPEN the CHEST, COLLECT the SHIELD SHOT POTION. JUMP onto the ALTAR and OPEN the STRONG BOX (beware of the flames - USE the FIRE SHIELD POITION that you obtained in Level One). COLLECT the SHURIKEN and WAND (Massacre) and exit NORTH. USE SHOT SHIELD POTION (or SHOOT SHURIKEN or USE MAGIC MISSILE SPELL) to KILL the PUMP CREATURES. COLLECT the STAMINA POTION and exit EAST then SOUTH. PULL LEVER (when both lights are BLACK and OPEN CHEST. COLLECT the SHURIKEN then READ BOOKS. COLLECT 2 or 3 BOOKS and exit NORTH. COLLECT ASHES and SEARCH the ALTAR. COLLECT the URN and SCROLL. JUMP UP (to touch the Ram's Skull) and DROP the URN. INSERT ASHES into the URN, COLLECT the URN and exit NORTH. THROW BOOK (only when there is a gap bewteen the moving stone blocks - keep trying!). DROP the remaining BOOKS and PULL the LEVER. Walk under the Stone Blocks (don't TOUCH them!) and exit to the EAST. PULL the LEVER and then WAIT until the block is at full height then exit WEST. Go SOUTH, WEST and then NORTH. OPEN the CASKET and STRONG BOX and INSERT the MIND BLAST SPELL (Power Zero) into the CASKET. COLLECT the CASKET and INSERT the CASKET into the STRONG BOX. OPEN the STRONG BOX and CASKET and COLLECT the MIND BLAST SPELL (recharged). JUMP UP to HIT the TWO SKULLS. Exit to the SOUTH. COLLECT the TELEPORT STONE and exit SOUTH. COLLECT the COIN (Quickly, avoiding the slime!) and exit NORTH. USE the CURE POISON POTION (from Level One) if the slime touches you. PRESS the LEVER (LEFT, RIGHT, MIDDLE, LEFT). PRESS BUTTON. Exit WEST then go SOUTH. HOLD the recharged MIND BLAST SPELL and exit to the WEST (Middle exit). FIRE the MIND BLAST SPELL and exit to the WEST. DRINK the SHOT SHIELD POTION and COLLECT the COIN and WAND (SLEEP SPELL) and exit to the WEST. PRESS the BUTTON and SEARCH the CHAIR. PULL the SWITCH then PRESS the 'new' BUTTON. READ the BOOK and go WEST. PULL the LEVER and go EAST, NORTH (up the stairs) and then SOUTH. COLLECT the KEY and fall down to the chest. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the GOLD and the TELEPORT STONE. Go SOUTH, SOUTH and SOUTH again. Go EAST (Quickly through the top exit) and COLLECT the CLEAVER. DRINK BARREL. Go WEST then EAST through the bottom exit. COLLECT the FLASK (Cure Poison) and go WEST, SOUTH and SOUTH again. JUMP onto the PAN (quickly!) and WAIT until it rises. OPEN the floating CHEST and COLLECT the KEY. Go NORTH then EAST. Hold the SLEEP SPELL and then FIRE the SLEEP SPELL and go SOUTH. JUMP onto the strongbox (Touch the trophy) and then PULL the SWITCH. OPEN the STRONGBOX and COLLECT the GOLD. Exit to the WEST. PRESS the BUTTON, OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the TWO BOTTLES and the TELEPORTER. Walk UP the STEPS and PUSH ALL TEN BOTTLES off the platform onto the floor. COLLECT the KEY and then go NORTH. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and then go EAST. WALK SLOWLY UNDER THE WOODEN PLATFORM. COLLECT the KEY then walk onto the platform. PULL the CHAIN and enter the Pit. PULL LEVEL, ENTER PIT and COLLECT two KEYS (quickly!). PULL LEVEL and walk to CHAIN. TOUCH CHAIN. TOUCH CHAIN again and exit WEST. Go WEST and WEST again. THROW the CLEAVER at the TORTOISE. SEARCH the TORTOISE. OPEN the TORTOISE and then COLLECT the CLEAVER. INSERT the TORTOISE SHELL KEY into the KEYHOLE. Go NORTH, NORTH, EAST and NORTH. Walk UP the stairs and go NORTH and NORTH again. INSERT the second GOLD KEY. DRINK the SUPERFAST POTION. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the TRANSPORTER then walk UP the stairs. Go SOUTH, SOUTH and SOUTH (down the stairs), SOUTH then EAST. Enter the room (FOUR times - ignore the bags for the first two times and COLLECT a BAG OF GOLD on the second two occasions). Go EAST, EAST, NORTH and NORTH. FIRE the SLEEP SPELL and exit to the NORTH. COLLECT the FINAL TOKEN. Walk to the WULF SLOT. INSERT FOUR TOKENS and exit WEST. PULL the LEVER. WAIT until the platform reaches the top and go WEST. Walk under the slime platform and continue walking WEST (the slime follows and pushes the chest off the platform). FIRE the DISPEL TRAP SPELL (from Level One) then OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the COINS. Go WEST and KILL the TORTOISE with the CLEAVER. OPEN the TORTOISE and COLLECT the KEY. Go WEST. Go SOUTH and PULL the LEVER. COLLECT the COIN and SHURIKEN. Also COLLECT the SUICIDE POTION. THROW POTION AT MOUTH (or COLLECT MEAT, WAIT until the creature enters the room and DROP the MEAT then PUSH MEAT THROUGH BARS). Walk UP the stairs and go EAST. COLLECT the POTION and the SPELL. Go EAST. PULL the LEVER and go WEST then fall to the ground and go EAST and EAST again. PULL the LEVER then PUSH BOARD over the Pit. Walk onto the board. PULL LEVER. Go NORTH (high exit) and COLLECT the KEY and go EAST. FIRE the SLEEP SPELL and COLLECT the GEMS then walk UP the stairs. Go WEST, SOUTH, SOUTH and then EAST. COLLECT the SPHERICAL GEM and SPELL. FIRE SPELL (to OPEN two CHESTS). Go WEST and fall down. Walk near to the Pillar and DRINK the STRENGTH POTION. PULL the PILLAR to the shelf. PUSH the PILLAR onto the shelf. COLLECT the KEY and then go WEST and SOUTH. INSERT three GEMS into the HOLE. DROP the URN, four TELEPORTERS and two green ALCOHOL BOTTLES and then go EAST. Walk until you are ONE TILE away from the moving spikes. JUMP over the moving spikes and go EAST. HOLD the KEY. THROW the KEY between the BARS. TOUCH the BARS. COLLECT the KEY and go EAST. KILL the SLIME (use MASSACRE or SHURIKEN) and go NORTH and then EAST. COLLECT the SPIKE and then OPEN the CHEST. COLLECT the CASH. PULL the RACK away from the wall and COLLECT the KEY. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and PULL the CHAIN then go WEST. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the GAUNTLET. PRESS the BUTTON and OPEN the HOLE. INSERT the SPIKE into the HOLE and go SOUTH. JUMP UP (to touch the brown wall hanging) and PUSH the BUCKET (stand on it). PRESS the BUTTON and OPEN the revealed CHEST. COLLECT the MEAT and GOLD and go EAST. COLLECT MEAT and then GIVE MEAT (x2) to MOUTH on wall. COLLECT TWO BOTTLES and go SOUTH and WEST. COLLECT the TRANSPORTER. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and go EAST. PULL the LEVER and then PUSH the GEM away by using another object. COLLECT the GEM and go NORTH. COLLECT the POISON POTION and then THROW it at the MOUTH. COLLECT the GOLD and go SOUTH. Go EAST and walk UP the first stairs and go NORTH. TOUCH the second BAR from the right. COLLECT the WAND and GOLD. PULL the LEVER. TOUCH the second BAR from the left and go SOUTH. PULL the LEVER and then PUSH the BOARD over the pit middle. PULL the LEVER TWICE and JUMP on the BOARD. PUSH the BUTTON. Walk to the second steps and go NORTH. DRINK the FIRE SHIELD POTION, COLLECT the GEM and go SOUTH, SOUTH, SOUTH and SOUTH again. SAVE THE GAME and then PUSH the BUTTON. Walk onto the Central Platform and COLLECT the GEM. Walk to the North edge of the Central Platform. WAIT for the revolving board to move near. Walk onto the moving platform. Walk off the platform through the door ('Entrance') and go NORTH and then EAST. INSERT THREE GREEN GEMS, walk down the stairs and go NORTH. PUSH the BUTTON and go WEST. COLLECT the KEY and go EAST. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and go EAST (up stairs) then NORTH and WEST. HOLD the GAUNTLET and OPEN the STRONGBOX. COLLECT the CASH and SHURIKEN. DROP the GAUNTLET. Go EAST, NORTH and WEST. COLLECT the GOLD, OPEN the STRONGBOX and COLLECT three BAGS. go EAST. DROP the three BAGS and PULL the LEVER. COLLECT the GOLD. Go EAST OR (from the last room) INSERT one BAG into the small lead-lined CASKET (and again until gone) then go EAST and EAST (repeat three times). DRINK the SHOT SHIELD POTION and go SOUTH (second door). COLLECT the KEY and go NORTH. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE. Go NORTH (second door). OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT two KEYS. GIVE the THREE BAGS to the MOUTH (or keep them!). TOUCH the WEST SKULL then PUSH the SKULL. HOLD the EAST TELEPORTER. Go WEST, SOUTH and SOUTH. Walk off the moving platform onto the central platform. COLLECT the SPELL. Walk to the South edge of the Central Platform. SAVE GAME. Walk onto the moving platform. PUSH the BUTTON and JUMP EAST. Walk to the South of the Central Platform. Walk onto the moving platform. Go NORTH. Walk through the maze to the top left (NORTH WEST) Room and FIRE the UNLOCK SPELL to open the doors. PULL the LEVER. COLLECT the GOLD and UNLOCK the DOOR. Walk through the door and COLLECT the EMERALD. Go WEST, SOUTH, WEST, WEST, NORTH and WEST and COLLECT the URN and four TELEPORTERS. Go SOUTH, WEST, WEST, WEST and NORTH. DRINK your remaining STAMINA POTIONS and go EAST. DROP the URN on the BLOCK, DROP the EMERALD on the BLOCK and six TELEPORTERS in the HOLE and go EAST. PULL the LEVER. Now, walk into the BLOOD CIRCLE and WAIT to go to Level Three. LEVEL THREE Level Three of Wulf Castle is the old Royal Court. Here the Kings and Lord Carolus judged their subjects and entertained their guests. At the heart of the level is the Throne Room and around it are arranged the Treasuries, Embassies, Kitchens and Barracks as well as the infamous Royal Maze where guests were taken for a little light entertainment. The level is now abandoned apart from the ghost of the old King who was brutally executed and then tried after his death. In this level resides the spirit of King Wulf. When found he will ask you to help free his soul and, in return, he will help you to reach the higher levels of the castle and, thereafter, kill Dianos. You must find the five ingredients to concoct a brew to do this. The King will tell you more when you get there. From where you start this level, go SOUTH - minding the gap - and then EAST. COLLECT the three STONES. JUMP and hit your head on the LEVER to part the bars and allow escape. COLLECT the other three STONES and descend the stairs. MOVE the BARRELS and COLLECT the BAG OF STONES. Go UP the stairs and then WEST. PULL the LEVER. Try to dodge the Spiders and COLLECT the KEY and SHURIKEN. Go SOUTH then USE the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go SOUTH. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT its contents (READ the BOOK) then go SOUTH. TOUCH the KING. He will then give you the first of SIX orders which you must obey. COLLECT the KEY and the CANDLE then go NORTH, NORTH, NORTH, EAST, DOWN and NORTH. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go SOUTH, UP, WEST, SOUTH and SOUTH. PULL the LEVER on the floor and DROP through the Pit. COLLECT the CROWN. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the ORB. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and return to the King. GIVE the CROWN to the KING. He will eventually give you the second order and the KEY - COLLECT it. Go NORTH then EAST. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go EAST (four times) then WEST. COLLECT the HANDLE. Go EAST and then NORTH. COLLECT the BOTTLE. READ the BOOK then go WEST (twice). OPEN the CHEST, COLLECT the KEY then go SOUTH, EAST and EAST again. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and WAIT until the platform descends. Go NORTH and then WEST. DROP the CANDLE on one of the BLOOD CIRCLES (it should now start to flicker) and go NORTH and then WEST. PULL the LEVER on the West wall TWICE. Go SOUTH and COLLECT the BOTTLE and the CANDLE. DRINK the BOTTLE (with the key inside it) then COLLECT the KEY. Sober up (!) and then go NORTH. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the TWO CANDLES. Go SOUTH from the lower of the two steps. PULL the LEVER then either COLLECT the GOLD or EXIT as soon as possible. Go EAST. DROP the remaining three CANDLES on the remaining three CIRCLES until they ALL flicker (this will teleport you to here later on!). Go WEST, then, from the Northwest corner, go NORTH. INSERT the HANDLE in the empty LEVER SLOT then PULL the LEVER. Go EAST and KILL the SPIDER. Go EAST and STEP on the four BLOOD CIRCLES (transporting you back to the candle room). DISPEL the TRAP on the CHEST then OPEN it and COLLECT its contents. Return to the room with the four BLOOD CIRCLES. Go WEST (from the lower of the two steps) and PRESS the RIGHT HAND BUTTON ONLY. Go SOUTH then EAST. OPEN the CASKET and COLLECT the KEY. PRESS the BUTTON, then COLLECT the GEM before going NORTH and then SOUTH. COLLECT the HERBS, INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go SOUTH, NORTH, UP the low steps, WEST, WEST then throught the NORTHWEST DOOR. Go NORTH, SOUTH through the higher step, then SOUTH. Return to the King. DROP the HERBS on the FONT and READ the MESSAGE. COLLECT the KEY. Go NORTH three times then EAST. THROW the STONE at the LEVER. Go through the gap in the bars. Go WEST then NORTH. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go WEST. COLLECT the COINS (and don't die!). COLLECT the GEMS and go WEST. THROW the STONE onto the RAMP until the ball falls down the hole. CROSS the PITS then PULL the LEVER. Go WEST. OPEN the RIGHT-HAND FOOD SAFE and EAT the FOOD. EAT the CHICKEN. Go SOUTH and then EAST. COLLECT the ROCK then SEARCH the BARRELS until you find the RAW MEAT. Go WEST then SOUTH. DROP the RAW MEAT onto the CHARCOAL (to cook it!) then EAT it. COLLECT the SMALL KEY then go SOUTH and WEST. INSERT the ROCK into the HOLE then line up the BARRELS with the HOLE. PULL the LEVER and then COLLECT the contents of any broken barrels. Repeat this until ALL the broken barrels are gone then COLLECT the KEY and the ROCK. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT its contents. Go EAST twice (you should now be back in the room with the Spider). CAST the MASSACRE SPELL. Go WEST then SOUTH. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the TWIGS. Go NORTH and then EAST. USE the TWIGS to PUSH the KEY out from inside the bars. Go WEST then SOUTH. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and the ROCK in the HOLE then MOVE the BARRELS to locate the LEVER. PULL it and then MOVE the SILVER BOWL to reveal the KEY. Go NORTH and then WEST. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Go SOUTH. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the POTIONS. MOVE the CHEST to the SOUTH wall. STAND on the CHEST and THROW any spare objects onto the shelf in order to make the ball roll around the corner and knock the barrel off! Once this is achieved, SEARCH the BARREL and collect the REAL GREEN FLASK. INSERT the TOKEN into the SLOT then return to the King. DROP the FLASK on the FONT and then listen to the King. COLLECT the KEY. Go WEST and then SOUTH. INSERT the KEY in the SLOT. Go WEST and DRINK the RED POTION (Super fast) then JUMP over the SPIKES and go WEST. STAND on the PRESSURE PAD. Go WEST. JUMP over the SPIKES then SEARCH the BARREL. COLLECT the BAG OF STONES. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT its contents. Go EAST and then SOUTH. PUSH the STRONGBOX from the platform. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the GEM. DROP the FOUR GEMS on the FOUR HOLES and go EAST. WAIT for the ROCK to fall then COLLECT the STONES and go SOUTH. THROW the STONE at the LEVER on the WEST WALL and go SOUTH. Go SOUTH again and STAND on the PLATFORM. PULL the HIGHER LEVER on the WEST wall and don't fall off!. Go SOUTH and SOUTH again. CLIMB the STAIRS then OPEN all the CHESTS, COLLECTING all the KEYS and SACKS. DROP through the SOUTHWEST HOLE. PULL the LEVER then drop off the platform. Go WEST. DROP FIVE STONES down the SMALL HOLE then climb onto the CHEST to reach the KEYHOLE. INSERT the KEY and then go NORTH. RUN through the room BEFORE the TIMER expires, collecting as much MONEY as possible then go EAST twice. OPEN the CHESTS and COLLECT their contents. PULL the LEVER THREE TIMES then PULL the LEVERS on the NORTH walls and go NORTH. PULL the LEVERS in the CORRECT order (from RIGHT to LEFT) and go WEST. PULL the LEVER and go WEST. PULL the LEVER then INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and go NORTH. CLIMB onto the platform and avoid dying! Go EAST. PULL the LEVER then climb onto the platform. Go EAST and then NORTH. PULL the LEVER on the FLOOR. DRINK the STRENGTH POTION then PUSH the BOARD up to the HOLE in the WEST wall. DRINK the SUPER FAST POTION and JUMP over the PIT and COLLECT the KEY. Go SOUTH. PULL the LEVER. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the KEY. Go NORTH and JUMP over the PIT then INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE. COLLECT the HANDLE. Go SOUTH and INSERT the HANDLE in the EMPTY LEVER. PULL the HANDLE and go NORTH. PULL the LEVER on the NORTH wall and go NORTH. Collect everything. DISPEL the TRAP on the CHEST and COLLECT its contents. PULL the LEVER. Go SOUTH and then EAST. INSERT the COIN into the SLOT. Return to the King and put the SACK of WHITE POWDER onto the FONT. COLLECT the KEY. This key opens the way to the Diplomat's Quarters. With the fall of the Wulf Empire, the Ambassadors from its various provinces fled, leaving many possessions behind them. The rest of your work on this Level involves finding the ENCHANT LIQUID SPELL and the CHALICE. The spell turns all previously assembled ingredients into a potion, while the chalice will allow you to take the potion to the ghost of the King. From the King, go EAST then SOUTH and INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE. Go EAST, COLLECT the SMALL KEY then go EAST again. Go NORTH. KILL the SPIDER. CLIMB onto the BARRELS and SEARCH the SHIELD to find a SMALL KEY. WAIT until the hole on the wall fires a RAM'S SKULL and then COLLECT it. CLIMB the STAIRS to the room above. COLLECT the WAND which is hidden between the chest and the stone block. OPEN the CHEST, and COLLECT the SPELL, CASKET and BOTTLE. DISPEL the TRAP on the CASKET and OPEN it to get the LARGE KEY. DROP the 'RED FISH' on the CASKET. OPEN the CASKET marked 'Singu Teniel Vitreng' and COLLECT the READ MAGIC SPELL. CAST READ MAGIC on the UNKNOWN SPELL then go DOWN and SOUTH. USE the LARGE GREY KEY in the KEYHOLE and go EAST. DRAG the CHEST West, onto the platform upstairs. PULL the LEVER and WAIT until the platform returns before PULLING it AGAIN and JUMPING onto the platform as it rises. COLLECT the WAND from underneath the armour. COLLECT the COINS and SEARCH the PILLOW to find and COLLECT the CASKET. CAST the UNLOCK CHEST SPELL on the LARGE CHEST. COLLECT the KEY, CASH and HOLY SYMBOL. Drop down through the hole and place the WAND marked 'Laguna' on the FAR RIGHT STONE BLOCK. Place the WAND marked 'Durrigan' on the FAR LEFT STONE BLOCK. Go WEST and then SOUTH. DROP the CASKET with the image of a key on it, then OPEN it. INSERT the HEAVY BRASS KEY then OPEN the CASKET and COLLECT the LARGE IRON KEY. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and go SOUTH. PRESS the BUTTON to select the FIRST platform, PULL the LEVER to set it moving and PULL it again to stop it, positioning it to form a step leading to the WEST of the room. PRESS the BUTTON again to select the NEXT platform and repeat the process, constructing a staircase leading to the room above. Once this is completed, go UP. READ the BOOK, COLLECT the LEVER, DROP the HOLY SYMBOL onto the STONE BLOCK, COLLECT the WAND and CASKET, OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT two SPELLS then go back downstairs. CAST READ LANGUAGE on the BLACK BOOK then COLLECT it and READ it. Go NORTH. CAST the MASSACRE SPELL to KILL the GARGOYLE, COLLECT the SMALL KEY and (optional!) KILL the other GARGOYLE. Then go SOUTH. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the GIANT JUMP POTION then go NORTH. INSERT the HANDLE into the FAR RIGHT SLOT and PULL it. Go NORTH and then EAST. DROP the WAND marked 'Matil' onto the CENTRE STONE BLOCK and a CASKET will drop from he ceiling! CAST DISPEL TRAP on it and COLLECT the LARGE KEY from inside. COLLECT the three WANDS from the stone blocks and go WEST, SOUTH and then EAST. DROP the BAG OF STONES (or other large item) then DRINK the GIANT JUMP POTION. JUMP on the BAG then onto the wooden platform PULL the LEVER then drop down. Use your own judgement to CLIMB the staircase to the corridor above! INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and go WEST. DROP the BLACK BOOK down the hole by the BLACK stone. DROP the GREEN BOTTLE dow the hole by the GREEN stone. DROP the RED CASKET down the hole by the RED stone. DROP the RAM'S SKULL down the hole by the YELLOW stone and then COLLECT the ENCHANT LIQUID SPELL which duly appears. Go EAST, DOWN, WEST, NORTH and WEST. UNLOCK the DOOR using the WAND and go WEST, NORTH and WEST. CAST ENCHANT LIQUID on the FONT. You will now be given the key to the Guard's Barracks. This section is heavily populated by Monsters and, though the puzzles are not too difficult, it is very dangerous! In order to serve the finished potion to the King, it is necessary to recover the Ancient Chalice of the Wulfs (this can be found at the end of this section). With that complete, the King should allow you to go on to Level Four. COLLECT the KEY and go WEST. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and go WEST and WEST again. KILL the lower GOBLIN with a weapon. Avoid the rocks of the upper Goblin and go NORTH. KILL BOTH GARGOYLES and COLLECT the KEY from behind the wooden board. PULL the LEVER and go SOUTH and then EAST. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and go EAST, EAST, NORTH, NORTH, WEST and SOUTH. Climb the stairs and KILL the GOBLIN, avoiding the rocks from the others. COLLECT the KEY and INSERT it into the KEYHOLE then go WEST. COLLECT BOTH KEYS and KILL BOTH GARGOYLES and go WEST. INSERT the GOLD KEYS into the correct KEYHOLES. Avoid death and KILL the VOLCANOES, then go NORTH. SEARCH the PILLOW, COLLECT the KEY and go SOUTH. DISPEL the TRAP on the CHEST and OPEN it to COLLECT the ORB and the WAND. CAST POLTERGEIST SPELL THREE TIMES and go NORTH, EAST and SOUTH. COLLECT the KEY from the centre of the room, INSERT it into the KEYHOLE and go EAST, SOUTH, EAST, EAST, EAST, NORTH, EAST, EAST, EAST, EAST, EAST, NORTH, WEST, WEST and NORTH. You should now be in the Northwest corner of the Royal Maze. OPEN the CHEST (it was moved by the Poltergeist Spell!). COLLECT the CHALICE and return to the King. DROP the CHALICE onto the FONT and then GIVE the FULL CHALICE to the King. COLLECT the KEY and go NORTH. Drop through the pit in the centre of the room and go SOUTH and then WEST. INSERT the KEY into the KEYHOLE and go WEST. Now, climb the stairs to Level Four! LEVEL FOUR The Fourth Level of Castle Wulf used to be the King's Residential floor and includes Bedrooms, Kitchens and Libraries. However, much of it has now become very bizarre, as a host of demons have taken up residence here at Diano's bidding. The aim of this level is to get four Gold Keys which will subsequently allow you to reach Level Five. A quick note on the Demons. These ungodly creatures must firstly be made vulnerable to attack. If there is a 'red circle' in front of them you must drop a CANDLE within it. If there is NO red circle, CAST a DISPEL EVIL SPELL. You start in the Northeast Solar. OPEN the CHEST, COLLECT the SUPER FAST POTION and then READ the LANGUAGE SPELL. Walk over to the pressure pads - clockwise from the top of the screen. COLLECT the UNLOCK DOOR WAND which should appear near the chest. Go WEST to the King's Passage. USE the UNLOCK DOOR SPELL to go WEST to the Royal Chamber. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the DISPEL EVIL ORB. Go SOUTH into the Store Room. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the KEY then go NORTH and WEST to the Nameless Corridor. USE the KEY in the KEYHOLE and go NORTH into the King's Bedroom. SEARCH the PILLOW, COLLECT the CASKET and PULL the LEVER. Go WEST into the Queen's Bedroom. SEARCH the FIRST BUSH, COLLECT the SMALL BRASS KEY, OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the UNLOCK CHEST SPELL. COLLECT one BOTTLE OF WINE. SEARCH the RIGHT-HAND TAPESTRY and PRESS the BUTTON. Now return to the Store Room. Go WEST into the Secret Store. COLLECT the WATER POTION and the RAM's SKULL then OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT ALL FOUR BOMBS. DROP one BOMB and PRESS it; when it blows up it should reveal a Secret Door. Go WEST into the Pit Room. Walk carefully around the edge of the pit and go SOUTH to the Queen's Shrine. CAST UNLOCK CHEST upon the CHEST and COLLECT the BLESS POTION SPELL, the GIANT JUMP POTION and the DISPEL TRAP SPELL. Return to the Nameless Corridor and then go WEST. DRINK the GIANT JUMP and SUPER FAST POTIONS and JUMP across the pit and spikes. Go WEST (using the UNLOCK DOOR SPELL) to the Guards Room. SEARCH the PILLOW and COLLECT the SHURIKEN. OPEN the SQUARE BLOCK on the wall and COLLECT the KEY. Go NORTH to the Guard Post. DROP the WATER POTION onto the SMALL CHEST KEY to 'wash away' the poison. CAST DISPEL TRAP on the CHEST, OPEN it and COLLECT the BOOK and the STRENGTH POTION. Return to the King's Bedroom and USE the LARGE KEY on the KEYHOLE to go EAST into the King's Chapel. DROP the SKULL on the ALTAR and then READ the BOOK that begins: "At tanume tue vendum......". OPEN the CASKET, COLLECT the CHEST KEY and OPEN the GREY CHEST. COLLECT the two ORBs. DROP Finvar's 'casket of recharging', INSERT Finvar's 'potion booster' SPELL, OPEN the CASKET and COLLECT the recharged SPELL. CAST the 'potion booster' SPELL on the 'weak strength' potion. COLLECT the STRENGTH POTION. PRESS the TRIANGULAR BUTTON on the SOUTH side of the Altar and then COLLECT the TWO CANDLES and return to the Queen's Shrine. COLLECT the CANDLES, DRINK the STRENGTH POTION and then PULL the ALTAR back to reveal a hidden button. PRESS this BUTTON and return the Altar to its original position. Return to the Pit Room. USE a BOMB to BLAST away the hidden door and go WEST into the Trophy Room. SEARCH the TROPHY'S MOUTH (this provides you with a small note) then PRESS the BUTTON in the Trophy's mouth and return to the Queen's Shrine. DROP the BOTTLE of WINE on the ALTAR and OPEN the CASKET that falls from the ceiling. COLLECT the KEY and go back to the Trophy Room. INSERT the KEY into the LOCK when the LIGHT on the Clock is at the TOP. Return to the Secret Store, SEARCH the TROPHY and PRESS the BUTTON. Now return to the Trophy Room and PRESS the BUTTON in the TROPHY again. This will reveal the BLOCKS covering a door. Go WEST to the North Passage. PULL the LEVER. Walk through the bars and COLLECT the MONEY BAGS (except the one painted with magical runes!). COLLECT the KEY and PULL the LEVER to reveal a door to the West. Go WEST to the Bedroom. OPEN the GREY CHEST, COLLECT the MAGIC MISSILE WAND, OIL FLASK and CURE POISON POTION. SEARCH the LIGHT and PRESS the SECRET BUTTON that you find. SEARCH the PILLOW and COLLECT the SMALL CHEST KEY. CAST DISPEL TRAP on the WOODEN CHEST and OPEN it. COLLECT the MONEY and SHURIKEN. If you have any bombs left, drop them near where the tapestry was raised to reveal a secret door. Go WEST to the Secret Room. In order to kill the Demon, CAST DISPEL EVIL. Now USE the MAGIC MISSILE WANDS on the DEMON to KILL it. DRINK the SUPER FAST POTION and JUMP across the pit to COLLECT the BAG OF HOLDING. Return to the Guards Room. PULL the RIGHT LEVER and then the LEFT LEVER and go NORTH to the Guard Post. UNLOCK the WEST door and then go WEST to the Northwest Solar. DROP any CANDLE into the CIRCLE on the floor; this makes the Demon vulnerable. USE a MAGIC MISSILE or SHURIKEN to KILL the DEMON. This is quite difficult so you would be wise to SAVE THE GAME just before fighting it. Go SOUTH to the Little Passage then SOUTH again to the Royal Gaol. PULL the LEVER until you can reach the IRON CHEST. DRAG the CHEST free of the bars. Go SOUTH to the Cistern Room, SOUTH to the West Hall and then EAST to the Upper Kitchen. SEARCH the GREY JARS to find a SMALL CHEST KEY and COLLECT the COPPER BOWL. Go EAST to the West Passage. READ the BOOK and COLLECT the UNLOCK CHEST SPELL. Now return to the Royal Gaol. CAST the UNLOCK CHEST SPELL on the CHEST, COLLECT the STONE and the DISPEL TRAP SPELL then return to the West Hall. Go SOUTH to Wulf's View. USE the UNLOCK DOOR SPELL and go NORTH to the Pump Room. CAST DISPEL TRAP on the WOODEN CHEST. COLLECT its contents and EAT the CHEESES. Place the COPPER BOWL below the pump's spout, PUMP the HANDLE until water appears in the bowl. TAKE the BOWL and return it to the Cistern Room. UNLOCK the DOOR to the EAST. DROP the BOWL OF WATER onto the CISTERN; water should now flow along the pipe. Go EAST to the Oil Store. Place the OIL FLASK below the tap on the barrel. When the barrel is full, TURN the TAP and COLLECT the OIL FLASK when that is full. Now return to the Upper Kitchen. DROP the full FLASK of OIL on the FLAME. The resulting fireball destroys part of the shelf allowing the ball to drop and smash. Inside is a KEY. COLLECT the KEY and return to Wulf's View. UNLOCK the DOOR to the South using the spell and go SOUTH to the Carver's Hall. THROW the STONES through the bars so that the ball pushes the POTION through the bars. COLLECT the GIANT JUMP POTION. Return to Wulf's View and USE the POTION to recover the KEY from the platform. Return to the Carver's Hall and USE the KEY in the lock. Go SOUTH to the Southwest Hall. DROP a CANDLE in the small RED circle and then KILL the DEMON. Go SOUTH to the Small Store. USE a combination of UNLOCK CHEST and DISPEL TRAP SPELLS to OPEN the nested CHESTS and collect all the contents. Go NORTH then EAST to the Little Passage. UNLOCK the South DOOR using the GREY KEY (this leads to the Box Room). PULL the LEVER and then RETURN it to the 'UP' position. Go EAST to Halb's Delight. Slide around the large boxes until a gap is made in front of the door. One or two of the blocks cannot be moved and the one in front of the door has a life of it's own! Go NORTH to the Inner Passage. USE the GIANT JUMP POTION to reach the wooden shelf and COLLECT the IMMORTAL POTION and CASKET. OPEN the CASKET and COLLECT the FOUR TOKENS, PULL the LEVER and go EAST to the South Passage. DRINK your IMMORTAL POTION and JUMP over the spikes. PULL the LEVER to blow them up! Go SOUTH to the South Chamber. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the GOLD KEY. Slide around the TILES that spell D-I-A-N-O-S so that they read exactly the same along the other track and then go NORTH to the Warden's Room. SEARCH the THIEF - he needs an ALKALI POTION to make him feel well enough to talk to you. Go SOUTH and then EAST by CASTing the UNLOCK DOOR SPELL to Helm's Doom. COLLECT the BOTTLE that "...restores Alkali balance..." and return to the Warden's Room. GIVE the BOTTLE to the THIEF. He will eventually give you the combination to escape (1-4-3-2). He will then ask you to bring him a POISON. Go SOUTH, EAST and NORTH to the Gambler's Den. USE the three TOKENS to GAMBLE on the ROTUNDAS. The extreme right-hand one is a 'low risk', 'low return' machine that provides extra tokens. The middle ROTUNDA is 'higher risk', 'higher return' that also provides GREEN TOKENS. The left-hand ROTUNDA gambles tokens for potions, money or an occasional key. USE the RIGHT and MIDDLE ROTUNDA to generate as many tokens as possible and then USE them in the LEFT-HAND machine to get POTIONS and a GREY KEY. There is a MAGIC MISSILE SPELL hidden behind the stairs. When you are satisfied (or broke!), go EAST to Malladin's Pits. The four pits lead to four different challenges: WEST to the Resting Chamber. USE the FERTILISER to grow a SHOOT so that you can reach the lever. PULL it and collect the CHEST KEY. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT all items except the BOOKS. DRINK the SWEAT POTION (for strength) and then PUSH the METAL BARS aside. WAIT until the clock has gone around FOUR TIMES and then UNLOCK the DOOR. Go NORTH and collect the FIZZY POTION (poison!). Follow the exit sequence. GIVE the POISON to the THIEF and return to Malladin's Pits. NORTH to the Great Pit and COLLECT the GOLD. Follow the exit sequence. Go SOUTH to the Outer Pit and keep collecting the MONEY SACKS. If the roots start to grow in front of the door, LEAVE (the door only unlocks after a certain amount of time). The roots will eventually block off your exit so be careful! COLLECT the DISPEL TRAP SPELL. Go SOUTH and SOUTH again then follow the exit sequence. Remember that the door only unlocks after a certain amount of time. EAST to the Fire Pit. Withstand the fireballs until part of the metal flooring disappears. Drop through and go SOUTH. COLLECT the THREE SPELLS and follow the exit sequence. From the Great Pit go EAST, SOUTH, SOUTH and SOUTH and you will then be in the Inner Passage. Retrace your steps back to Malladin's Pits. From there go EAST and EAST again to the Southeast Hall. CAST DISPEL EVIL SPELL and KILL the two DEMONS. USE the UNLOCK DOOR SPELL to go NORTH to the Learned Hall. PULL the LEVER and go WEST to the Symbolist's Hall. Remember the order of the shaped blocks on the posts. Go EAST and EAST again then PULL the LEVERS in the following order:- LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT and then LEFT. A button should now have appeared on the wall. PRESS it. (The aim of this puzzle is to arrange the shaped blocks in the same order as those in the other room). Go EAST to the Book Store. READ the BOOKS and note their contents for clues. READ BOOKS SEVERAL TIMES to see if there is more than one message. Go WEST and WEST again to the Symbolist's Hall. PRESS the BUTTON the go WEST to the Sealed Chamber. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the PLANET (Earth) without pressing any of the buttons then go EAST and EAST again. Go NORTH then EAST to the Quadratica (this is later referred to as 'the room with the square walls'). Do not bother opening the chest. READ all the BOOKS and COLLECT the DRY SANDY PLANET (Chaos) then go WEST and NORTH then EAST to Diano's Library. READ all BOOKS and keep reading the book on 'Marriage & Funeral Customs of The Southlands' until a SPELL appears. COLLECT the SPELL. SEARCH the TAPESTRY and COLLECT the SMALL KEY that emerges. Go WEST and WEST again to the Side Chamber. Do not bother with the puzzle in this room unless you feel like it - it is not essential to completing the game. Go WEST to the Nameless Room. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT all the contents. CAST the READ MAGIC SPELL on the UNKNOWN SPELL and then return to the Quadratica. Position the chest along the North wall, FIFTH TILE FROM THE LEFT, JUMP onto it and then JUMP UP. Your head should hit a secret panel and a small white planet should fall out. COLLECT the PLANET (the Moon) and return to the Learned Hall. You now have to set the four LEVERS to four NUMBERS in any order. You do this by setting a level to either '+', '-' or NEUTRAL. For example, the number 29 is made by adding 27, subtracting 3 and adding 1. Thus the levers will be in the following positions:- 27-UP, 9-MID, 3-DOWN and 1-UP. Use this principal to create the numbers 29, 32, 16 and 7. Once you have done this, the door to the West will unlock. Go WEST to the Queen's Library. CAST UNLOCK CHEST and COLLECT the PLANET (Sun) then go WEST to Wisdom's Hall. COLLECT the PLANET (Red) and return to the Nameless Room. Go SOUTH to the Upper Room. You should now have FIVE PLANETS in your rucksack - Earth, Sun, Moon, Red and Chaos. These will be dropped through the holes in the floor to land on spikes in the Planetarium (North of the Queen's Library). They should be dropped through the following holes:- TOP = SUN; LEFT = RED; RIGHT = MOON; BOTTOM = EARTH (We'll use Chaos in a while!). Now return to the Queen's Library and go NORTH to the Planetarium. Due to the fact that you landed the planets in the correct positions, the globe in the centre has stopped spinning. SEARCH the GLOBE and PRESS the HIDDEN SWITCH. COLLECT the TWO KEYS and return to the Upper ROOM. Now DROP the CHAOS PLANET through ANY of the holes and return to the Planetarium. PRESS the BUTTON on the BLACK GLOBE and COLLECT the GREY KEY. Return to Wisdom's Hall and COLLECT all the WOODEN PLANKS and go WEST to the East Passage. This is the final approach to the last room. USE the GREY KEY that you collected from the Planetarium in the KEYHOLE then USE the PLANKS to cross the floor without touching it or you will be electrocuted!. Go WEST to the Central Hall. In here are three Demons! First, CAST a DISPEL EVIL SPELL then give them everything you've got. Once they are dead, INSERT the FOUR GOLD KEYS into the FOUR KEYHOLES in the order given to you by the Thief:- 1 is the EXTREME LEFT-HAND keyhole, and 4 is the RIGHT-HAND one. Once this is done, walk to the centre of the room and go to Level 5! LEVEL FIVE You have now reached the final level of Castle Wulf. Dianos is waiting for you in the final room! The aim here is to collect the necessary items for his destruction and to reach that final room. Dianos has left a profusion of traps and puzzles to stop you. You will need all the skills that you have gained in the previous levels. You start this level in the Great Tower. Quickly, COLLECT the MARBLE GEM STONE and go EAST to the North Bridge. COLLECT the second MARBLE GEM STONE and locate the PRESSURE PAD which is close to the South wall. Walk over it to reveal a SKULL LOCK. INSERT the two MARBLE GEMS into the SKULL LOCK and go EAST to the Ward Room. JUMP up on the posts and COLLECT the POTION BOTTLES (do this quickly as the effect of the gems is damaging your health!). Go EAST to Helm's Bridge. PULL the FIRST LEVER and go UNDER the WOODEN BLOCK when it raises. PULL the SECOND LEVER and RUN to the EAST door. Stand as close as you can get to it and WAIT. The two FLAILS that appeared will not harm you. RUN back, PRESS the HOLE and COLLECT the FLASK that appears. Finally, PULL the THIRD LEVER, WAIT a few seconds until the door unlocks, then go EAST to Helm's View. COLLECT the EMERALD GEM and go EAST to the Great Chamber. OPEN the CHEST (READING the BOOK for more clues) and COLLECT the DISPEL TRAP, SCROLL and CURE POISON FLASK. Go DOWN the stairs to the Cellar Stair. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the MIND BLAST ORB and GREEN GEMS (the gems you collect are powering up your Mind Blast Spell in readiness for the final conflict!). Go EAST and SOUTH to the Main Cellar. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the BLESS POTION SPELL and URN, then return to the Cellar Stair. PLACE the URN UNDER the STEAM HAMMER and then PULL the LEVER. The urn will smash and you should COLLECT an EMERALD. Go to the Great Cellar and OPEN the CHEST. COLLECT the MAGIC MISSILE SPELLS (however, these are bit of a 'red herring' and almost useless!). Go SOUTH to the East Cellar. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the TWO RED POTIONS. AS the note says, you can only pick up ONE of the BLACK POTIONS. They are both STAMINA - one has a single dose of 200 and the other has 10 doses of 20. Get the 10 and 20 STAMINA POTION and CAST the BLESS POTION SPELL on it - this provides you with more Stamina than casting it on the other potion. Return to the Great Chamber. You have now been teleported back here! You must quickly jump for the posts that have caskets resting on them, getting the caskets as you go. OPEN the GREEN CASKET and COLLECT all the GEMS. OPEN the RED CASKET and COLLECT the DISPEL TRAP SPELL then go SOUTH to the East Passage. You must now get all the gems, but beware of the floor! There are FOUR PRESSURE PADS that transport you to one of the confrontations with Dianos! The EAST side of the passage is safe apart from the last tile but one. Go SOUTH to the Separator. Avoid touching the BLACK SPHERES as these will explode and harm you! COLLECT the KEY, PULL the LEVER and USE the KEY in the KEYHOLE. Return to the Great Chamber and USE STRENGTH to PULL BACK the WOODEN BLOCK from the door. Go EAST to the Oubliette. SEARCH the SKULL, COLLECT the TOKEN and TIGER'S EYE GEM, READ the BOOK and return to the Separator. Go SOUTH to the High Passage. PULL the MIDDLE LEVER. CLIMB the wooden LADDER and trigger the wooden BLOCK by standing in the corner. You must avoid the flail, COLLECT all the GREEN GEMS and finally the KEY. Go SOUTH to Axel's Leap. COLLECT the MONEY BAG and the RED ORB. As soon as you go round the far side of the pit, you will trigger the flails. JUMP to avoid them and go SOUTH to Sea Watch. DISPEL the TRAP on the wooden CHEST, OPEN it and COLLECT the extra-strong SPIDER POISON and the MONEY SACK. INSERT the KEY in the KEYHOLE and go WEST to Axel's Fall. Time the moving of the wooden block and INSERT the TWO EMERALDS onto the EYES of the SKULL LOCK (stand on the edge of the FIRST floorboard to do this). JUMP across the CENTRAL block of the wooden floor and go WEST to Brokson's Hall. OPEN the wooden CHEST and COLLECT the PIECE OF LEAD and all the COINS. PULL the UPPER LEVER and get onto the elevator. DROP the POISON on the floor and the SPIDER should drink it. After a few seconds the Spider will die, leaving behind a KEY. PULL the UPPER LEVER and go DOWN to COLLECT the KEY. Now PULL the LOWER LEVER to make the bars disappear. PULL the LOWER LEVER on the West wall and CLIMB onto the elevator and go to the Upper Level. USE the KEY in the KEYHOLE and then return to the Lower Floor. Go WEST to the Void. You cannot collect the flask or the money sacks - just yet. The exits to this room are located about halfway along the North wall and at either end of the West wall. Go NORTH and DISPEL the TRAP on the STRONG BOX then OPEN it to COLLECT the COINS. COLLECT the MAGIC SHIELD POTION, stand on the STRONG BOX tp PRESS the SECRET PANEL and COLLECT the RUBY that falls from it. Return to the Void and then exit using the LOWER of the West wall doors to enter the Lord's View. TOUCH the NUMBERED PANELS until they are set at 7-4-1. This will unlock the door to the South. Go SOUTH then SOUTH again to the Lord's Watch. PRESS the TWO SECRET PANELS to COLLECT a RED CASKET (be sure to READ THE NOTE!) and the TWO KEYS. Go NORTH to the Side Room. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT what MONEY you can. Return to the Void and exit through the UPPER of the West doors to the Great Bridge. INSERT the TWO RUBIES into the FIRST SKULL LOCK, then INSERT the KEY into the LOCK and INSERT the TOKEN into the SLOT. Go WEST to the West Ward. COLLECT the AMETHYST and the GREEN CASKET. OPEN the GREEN CASKET and COLLECT all the GEMS. Now DRINK your STRENGTH POTION and SLIDE the wooden BLOCK so that you can reach the door and lever. PULL the LEVER and go WEST to Magnus's Watch. Avoid the steel shots and INSERT the AMETHYST into the appropriate SKULL LOCK. You can now OPEN the RED CASKET and COLLECT the LEAD. Go NORTH to the High Parapet. PULL the LEVER and CLIMB onto the elevator. JUMP over the WOODEN PLATFORM with the BOOK on it. OPEN the CHEST and COLLECT the STAMINA POTION. Return to the Lord's Watch via the Void. At the Void, COLLECT the TWO MONEY SACKS and the TURQUOISE WATER POTION. At the Lord's Watch, DROP the TWO LEAD PIECES and RAGNAR'S BOTTLE into the BOWL. The bowl should bubble for a while and then reveal TWO PIECES OF GOLD. Return to Magnus's Watch. INSERT the TWO PIECES OF GOLD into the SKULL LOCK. Go NORTH and NORTH again to the Inner Watch. COLLECT the KEY and then OPEN the CHEST. COLLECT all the GREEN GEMS, the TWO JADES, the RED CASKET and the FLASK OF BLOOD. Go EAST to Caliban's View. DROP the RED CASKET and return to the Inner Watch. OPEN the GREEN CASKET and INSERT ONE of THE JADES. Return to Caliban's View and OPEN the RED CASKET - but DO NOT COLLECT THE BLOODSTONE! Return to the Inner Watch and repeat the process with the SECOND JADE. Go back (again!) to Caliban's View. There should now be TWO BLOODSTONES on the floor. COLLECT the BLOOD KEY and return to the Inner Watch. PULL the LEVER and go SOUTH to the High Parapet and throw yourself down the pit to arrive in the South Cellar. PULL the LEVER and face the consequences! Go NORTH to the Main Cellar and UNLOCK the DOOR USING the BLOOD KEY, then go WEST to Caliban's Cellar. COLLECT the PIECE OF JET, OPEN the SECRET PANEL and COLLECT the BANISH SCROLL (this is to defeat Dianos). STAND on the CARVED SKULL and THROW the FLASK OF BLOOD at the PENTANGLE. You will then be transported back to Caliban's View. COLLECT the TWO BLOODSTONES and go EAST to the Inner Ward. COLLECT the PETRIFY SPELL and CAST this on the TURQUIOSE GEM that results. Go NORTH onto the Open Bridge. PULL the LEVER and go NORTH and then WEST and descend the revealed stairs. You should now be downstairs. COLLECT the DISPEL MAGIC SPELL. OPEN the RED CASKET and COLLECT the SECOND PIECE OF JET. OPEN the STRONGBOX and COLLECT all the GREEN GEMS. Return to the Ward Room. CAST the DISPEL MAGIC SPELL on EITHER of the POWER GEMS. This should provide you with the final PIECE OF TURQUOISE. Go back to the Inner Ward and then go EAST to Axel's Stand. COLLECT the ORB, OPEN the SECRET PANEL and then COLLECT all the GREEN GEMS. Return to the Inner Ward and then descend the stairs to the Cellar Stair. PLACE the TWO RED ORBS UNDER THE HAMMER (one at a time!) and PULL the LEVER. You should now be able to COLLECT TWO OPALS and then return to Axel's Stand. INSERT the TWO OPALS into the SKULL LOCK and go EAST to the Last Watch. DROP the IMMORTAL POTION and DRINK it while it is on the floor - then RUN across the WOODEN SPIKES to the South door. Go SOUTH to the Last Bridge. The three Skull Locks accept the following gems:- From LEFT to RIGHT - TURQUOISE, TIGER'S EYE and JET. INSERT ALL SIX of these GEMS and go SOUTH to the Guard Post. TOUCH the SKULL LOCK and let your energy drain until it stops. You can then INSERT the TWO BLOODSTONES and proceed WEST to the Inner Chamber. OPEN the STRONGBOX and INSERT the BANISH SPELL and the ORB OF KAMUL. DRINK the STAMINA POTION to recover all your lost energy from the previous room. Go NORTH and then WEST to Diano's Lair. This is the main chamber where you will confront Dianos! Remember it well!! Exit through the MIDDLE of the West doors to emerge in the Great Cellar. COLLECT all the GREEN GEMS and return via the Cellar stairs to the Last Watch. COLLECT the IMMORTAL POTION, DRINK ONE DOSE and then RUN across the spikes to return to the Inner Chamber. INSERT the IMMORTAL POTION into the GREY STRONG BOX and then return to Diano's Lair. OPEN the GREY CHEST COLLECT all it's contents (BANISH SPELL, IMMORTAL POTION and MIND BLAST ORB). WAIT until Dianos appears, CAST the MIND BLAST SPELL. DRINK the IMMORTAL POTION. Approach Dianos and CAST the BANISH SPELL on him REPEATEDLY until he explodes!! COLLECT his HEAD and exit through the MIDDLE door............you have now completed CADAVER!!!! In the last room, your STATUS will be displayed. This solution has been the SIMPLE route through the game?!!!
