Documentation for Scrunch Program The scrunch program allows you to make a disk of as many files as you wish into a single file output so that it can be easily transfered via a modem to another computer then UN-Scrunched back to it's original state again. Having 2 drives is recommended if you wish to scrunch a full disk, if the file(s) you wish to scrunch are less than 1/2 the disk capacity one drive would work fine. Scrunching - place the files on a formatted disk which you wish to compact into a single file and place it in drive A. Place a newly formatted disk into drive B and select the scrunch window and click on the source and then click on drive A to indicate the source drive. The click on the destination and a default output of "B:A.OUT" will show in the directory, just click on OK if you wish to use the default or change the name to a different one then click the OK box. Now in the scrunch window you'll see that Scrunch is now highlighted and to begin simply click once on the "Scrunch" and the program will tell you when it is completed. Un-Scrunching - Scrunched files should maintain the OUT extender so that they will be easily identified. Place your file to be unscrunched into Drive A and place a formatted disk into Drive B. Select the "Unscrunch" menu and then input the souce drive/filename and the destination disk that you wish to use. A ramdisk may be used as well if it is installed as drive C and is large enough to hold the output files. Once you have specified the source and destination then the "Unscrunch" option will be highlighted and you can then proceed to un-scrunch the file by clicking on that item. Enjoy!
