ReadMe.txt 24/Aug/88 THE ST-ORGANISER UPDATES TO THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL 1. Notes on using the Alarm: ---------------------------- An Alarm is set by entering a note in the Diary Day notes and clicking on the Alarm button. Be sure that you click on the [New] button to enter the note before leaving. You can convert a [to-do] or [normal] note into an Alarm note by selecting it, clicking on the Alarm button, and clicking on the [Save] button to save the changes. When the start time of the Alarm note comes around, and you are running ST-Organiser, a message will be displayed on the screen. You can remove this by clicking on its [ OK ] button. However, this will not cancel the Alarm. A bell will ring every couple of seconds for two minutes to remind you of this. To cancel an Alarm you must set its note to something other than Alarm (or delete it). To do this, open the Diary window up, double-click on today's entry, select the Alarm note and change it. Until you do this, ST-Organiser will assume that the reason for the Alarm is still valid. If an Alarm time is passed while you are running some other program, or you didn't cancel an Alarm from earlier, you will be notified as soon as you run ST-Organiser later in the day. There is no limit to the number of Alarms you can have active at any one time. 2. Additions to the Spreadsheet ------------------------------- After entering the contents of a cell on the edit line, you may now use the combination of SHIFT together with the appropriate arrow key to enter the contents of the edit line and move the cursor in the direction of the arrow key. You should find that this allows you to enter data and formulas much more quickly.
