Rebus Writer - A KIDPRG in GFA Basic by D.A. Brumleve Copyright 1988 Distribute freely. All other rights reserved. THIS PROGRAM IS CAREWARE FOR THE BENEFIT OF LEAL SCHOOL. (I really, truly, fully expect YOU to donate to this worthy cause) Rebus Writer allows the user to design and print rebuses, a kind of code in which pictures and symbols are used to represent words. The HELP files in the program should be sufficient to get you started, but just in case you have trouble interpreting my artwork, the following pictures are provided for use in rebuses: HAT DEER HEN WATCH WITCH EEL CAN PHONE OIL WELL TIE BUS INK EYE ANT AX NOSE SAW BEE KEY RING WOOD OAR HAND KNOT AWL TREE STOP RIGHT(TURN) UP DOWN LEFT SUN STAR PEN(CIL) ICE Bear in mind, however, that a picture can stand for many words, and if the picture of an eel looks like a snake--or a worm, for that matter--to you, it probably will to your recipient as well. My sister, Kathleen Anderson, is a rubber stamp dealer who features rebus stamp sets in her designs. It is to her that I owe my knowledge of and interest in rebuses. Rebus design and interpretation tax one's thinking skills as well as one's understanding of English, but spelling does NOT count! This .PRG is CAREWARE. I hope you will enjoy this program thoroughly! If you do, PLEASE take the time to send a check to: LEAL SCHOOL ST FUND c/o 607 WEST ILLINOIS STREET URBANA, ILLINOIS 61801 For your convenience, the program will print a donation form on your printer when you click the HELP option (and your printer is on and loaded with paper). Your tax-deductible contribution will make the time I've spent programming Rebus Writer worthwhile. Thank you. D.A. Brumleve
