Alie blockade will be familiar to fans of the arcade game Qix, where the objective is to trap analien in a small portion of the screen. Written in machine code, with fantastic background pictures, this game will soon become very popular in the public domaine game world. You begin with a border around the whole screen, around which you can move a small cursor. Drawing lines from one section of the border to another will devide the playing area into two sections. The smallest of these is filled in with part of a picture, altering the shape of the border and redusing the area the alien has to roam about. To complete each level you'll have to keep drawing lines untill the playing area is reduced to such a small size that the alien can't move very far. If the alien hits you or touches the line you are drawing, you'll lose one of your three lives. At the bottom of the screen is a timer, and when this runs out you'll lose another life. The game becomes even tougher on the later levels, when in adition to the alien there are Tracers which move along the border of the playing area. If they catch you another life goes down the drain. The game is joystick controlled and pressing fire while moving will draw a line. If you manage to trap the alien or one of the tracers in the smaller, you‚ll be awarded bonus points and the baddie will be transfered to the remaining area. Should you manage to reach 10.000 points, you'll be given an extra life, but don't think this is going to be easy. For such a simple idea, this has got to be one of the most addictive games ever written.
