Powermonger is another game from BULLFROG,the same people
who made POPULOUS.PM(powermonger) looks a bit like Populous.
In bothe PM and Populous,you are a powerful man who controls
lot of small men.The icons in PM looks just like those in
Populous.But PM is MUCH better than Populous.
   Some people says PM is Populous II.I don't think so.In
Populous you're a god,but in PM you're just a normal human.
In Populous you conquer worlds,in PM you conquer islands.
    The intro in PM is great just like everything else in
the game.When you've watched the intro and listened to the
great music,you tell the game your name.
    There are three ways to start PM.You can start a conquest,
play a random land or load a data disk.If you start a conquest
you will come to the three screens big map.When you've conquered
one island,you go to the next one.Playing a random land is much
harder,because there are almost always more enemies on those maps.
   To conquer an island you need soldiers.On most maps you start
with about 20 soldiers.With that small army the best you can do
is to take a small village.On some maps there are villages you
already own.When you are in a friendly village,you can recruit
men to your army,take food,kill their sheep.Sheep are the best
food you can get.If you recruit all the people in a village,
that village can't produce food for you.If your men are walking
around empty-handed,you can go to a village with a workshop and
start inventing items.What they build depends on where the village
is.If it's on a hill,they can build a mine and make swords and
cannons.If it's a village with mant fishers in it,they will build 
boats.
     The enemies in PM will not just sit and watch when you take
their villages.There are three enemies and they all want to kill 
you.Sometimes the enemies fight each other.One thing you can do 
is to go to a fight and pick up the losers weapons.Then you can
attack the winning army.
     The graphics in PM is the most detailed i've ever seen.
Everything is very small,but it looks great.It's almost as
being inside a little world.There are birds flying around,
some of them are carrier pigeons.There are sheep walking around.
When you build,you see the men go out and chop down wood.
     The sound is even better than the graphics.You hear everything
that happens.If you walk close to a tree with birds in it,the birds
will fly away.You can hear people working in mines.You hear sheep 
baaing.
     The most detailed thing in PM is when you look at something
or someone.Every person in PM has an own name,job,age and house.
That's what i call detail!
    When you defeat an army with a captain,that captain will join
you.Every captain can have an own army.When you want to give 
orders to other captains,you must send a pigeon to them.When
a captain receives an order he says "YEAH".
    I don't think i've seen many games that are better than 
this.This beats everything.It's not so hard to learn,but to
play good is very hard
    Sometimes it will snow and rain.That makes it hard to see
what you're doing,just like real weather.Armys also move slower
in snow.In winter there will be no food but in the autumn there
will be plenty.
   PM is the best game i've ever seen.I promise you,there isn't
a better game on this planet.If you're one of those persons
who buys one or two games every year,this is something to buy.
Don't buy it if you're from Finland,you don't understand games 
like this.
